About Duncans Model Trains
Founded in 2006 by two friends with a common interest in model trains, Duncans Model Trains began with the aim of providing model trains and accessories at affordable prices to the general public. This was made achievable by having low running costs. At startup we began by just selling the 00 gauge Hornby range and soon gained several loyal customers pleased with our personal and knowledgeable service.
In 2007, we began to add more products to our range which included the introduction of Oxford Diecast model vehicles and Javis scenery. This meant that it was easy to add small extra items to an order which could make your layout look even more realistic. We were also able to start selling track extensions and the Thomas the Tank Engine range which had mass appeal amongst our customers.
2008 brought even more items to our range. These included Scalextric items of all shapes and sizes and the return of Airfix to the model world. The airfix items went from strength to strength during the year and towards christmas we had the entire range available and in stock. Hornby launched their own collection of scenery in this year too which gave another alternative to the already successful Javis range. Also towards the end of the year, we started to stock Corgi models which included all the model cars, aeroplanes and much more besides.
In 2009 we have commissioned a new website designed specifically with the model customer in mind. This now makes it easier to navigate the site and makes items easier to find.
We now have best stocks that we've ever had and we continue to expand. Later in the year we will begin to sell cardboard kits and remote control cars/boats/helicopters. Keep a look out for those items on the website in the next few months.
One thing that we have always prided ourselves on is providing a high quality of service to our customers and that continues to this day. We hope that you continue to enjoy using the website and we always love to hear your thoughts on all things model related.
To all of you, from all of us at Duncans Model Trains - Thank you and Happy Modeling!
