Sapphire Automatic Control Cycle How?

Thursday, 28 January 2010 17:42:46 Europe/London

SAPPHIRE R8245 Auto Control Cycle feature.. Description Introduction.. The Sapphire decoder has a unique function which allows locos to be controlled by a preprogrammed independent automatic control cycle. This is ACC. ACC allows for a cycle of EVENTs (EVENT Cycle) to be automatically executed by the decoder without any manual control input from the user via the DCC controller. The EVENT Cycle consists of up to 4 different loco running states preceded by an optional delay. e.g. You can use ACC to carry out many combinations of automatic control from basic operations like automatically starting a loco running at a preset speed after a set time delay, Or, more complex operations can be set up e.g. run/stop/reverse/stop with predetermined durations, speed and direction for each event. The following information describes how to implement ACC running.

Airfix is on the march

Tuesday, 6 October 2009 17:16:59 Europe/London

Airfix British Eighth Army

The first four sets in Airfix’s relaunched 1:32 scale figure range are now available. The British Eighth Army, British Paratroops, British Commandos and U.S. Infantry, all from the Second World War, are priced around £4.86 each.

As well as appealing to boys, the sets will also get the memories flowing for a generation of dads who played with these figures when they were children. The new models are almost identical to the originals – the same moulds are used, but the plastic is slightly stiffer, allowing for easier painting (a detailed painting guide is included on the back of each box).

The British Eighth Army figures are modelled on the men who fought across North Africa and in Italy, while the Paratroops come with their trademark red berets (at least, they will be red when you’ve painted them) and camouflaged helmets. The Commandos were created for raids behind enemy lines, while the U.S. troops depicted in this set fought with distinction in Europe.

Each box comes with a selection of 14 soldiers and five more sets are due for launch soon.
